HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. Developed by scientist Tim Berners-Lee in 1990, HTML is the language used to create web pages. Web browsers can read HTML files and compose them into web pages.

When writing HTML, you add “tags” to the text in order to create the structure. These tags tell the browser how to display the text or graphics in the document.

Our goal with this course is to get students to interact on a hands-on level with the technology that they use everyday. Students learn HTML commands and syntax as they make and show-off their own webpages.

In this class we will teach you the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript. In this class you will be able to build websites. You will learn to create your own web pages and begin to understand the building blocks of building web sites. You will be doing hands-on coding activities every class and build your own website from scratch.
